Food Review: Feedlot Steakhouse Bar & Grill


If you visit Tanglin Mall often, you can’t miss the huge Feedlot Steakhouse Bar & Grill signboard just opposite the road at Tanglin Post Office. My mum has always wanted to try this place, and thanks to an offer on Chope, we finally have a reason to eat here!

Lobster Mac & Cheese ($12)
Elbow pasta in rich, creamy lobster bisque & chunks of lobster meat, topped with cheese & lightly torched

If it smells nice, it’s bound to be good. The lobster bisque had a rich aroma and it definitely didn’t disappoint – it was very flavourful. However, there was only a layer of cheese on top so I would have liked it to be more cheesy but the dish was not bad overall. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Swiss Portobello Burger ($28)
Angus beef, bacon, emmenthal, portobello

I forgot to take an individual picture of my brother’s burger but the beef patty was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and it was so juicy. This was also the first time I liked eating tomatoes and all the flavours went well together. The oatmeal buns were soft and fluffy too. I dare say it’s the best burger I’ve tried so far!

Tenderloin Linguini ($25)
Char-grilled beef, roasted garlic, olive oil, chillies

The pasta was fragrant and cooked to al dente. Moreover, the beef was, again, perfectly done. The waiter said it was very spicy so you could ask for it to be less spicy if you can’t handle the heat – that’s what my dad did.

In summary, the lobster mac & cheese is nothing to shout about but I’d give it a try since it’s only $12 and come on, it’s lobster. Anyway, the best thing about this restaurant is their beef and I’d come back just for that.
